Hi [subscriber:email| default:Subscriber],

Every GM has that campaign — the one you were excited about, prepped hard for, and then life got in the way.

This month's Campaign Rescue Kit is for when you want to save it but don't have the energy to rebuild from scratch. Below are 7 practical, low-friction tools you can use this week to get your table excited again.

💬 Tool 1: The Table Reset Conversation

No tool works if expectations drifted apart. Spend 10–15 minutes asking three simple questions: Do you want to continue? What did you enjoy? What do you want more of? It turns the campaign from your project into our project.

⚔️ Tool 2: The 3-Session Rescue Arc
Don't try to save the whole campaign at once. Design a tight 3-session arc: re-hook and clarify → meaningful choice → consequence and reset. Three sessions is all it takes to make the story feel alive again.

🎲 Tool 3: The 10-Minute Situation Generator
Three columns: Location + Problem + NPC Motivation. Pick one from each, spend 10 minutes jotting sensory details and a twist. You now have a fully playable situation ready to drop in tonight.

🕯️ Tool 4: The Spotlight Ticket
Ask each player to secretly pick one thing they'd love to see this session — a fight, a moral dilemma, a mystery. Then deliver at least one of them. Players feel seen, and engagement rises sharply.

📜 Tool 5: The Gentle Retcon
Forcing dead-weight continuity kills GM motivation. You're allowed to simplify past events, merge plot threads, and remove what no longer works. Tell your players: "Everything you did still counts."

🗺️Tool 6: The "Last Time On…" One-Page Recap
Memory is your enemy when a campaign stalls. Build a structured one-page recap — key beats, open threads, one line per PC — and send it to your group before the session. It reactivates everyone instantly.

🗂️ Tool 7: The Prep BoxOne place — physical or digital — where everything lives. Recap, rescue arc notes, situation generator, NPC list, spotlight tickets. If it's not in the Prep Box, you don't need it to run.

📅 Your 7-Day Rescue Plan

Day 1 → Write the recap. Day 2 → Draft the rescue arc. Day 3 → Build your situation generator. Day 4 → Spotlight tickets + table reset. Day 5 → Gentle retcon your notes. Day 6 → Light prep for Session 1. Day 7 → Run it.

You don't need to fix everything. You just need to make the next session easy to run and exciting to play.
